Christmas Eve

On Christmas Eve, it is my family's tradition to get together and hand out our gifts to each other.  I got about $100.  I also got Crysis and COD:4 :)  Now all I want for Christmas is a SP COD4 server.

Anyways, me and my G-pa are crazy about computers and I was complaining about my case size and what not.  So he told me he has an old server case with Raid and Scuzzy drives incorporated already.  So I am getting a mega tower with that stuff for free :)  I am jazzed and will post more tomorrow

12/12/07

Wow...I wake up this morning after getting out the shower.  Check my e-mail, and I have gotten two responses from SpawnPoint.  Both were in form of a  newsletter.   Looks great for one of the earlier stages of e-mail blasts to be sent out.  I have to say it is very pleasing to the eyes.

Today is the 12th and my brother has turned into a teenager over night!  From 12 to 13.   I am gonna go wake him up and tell him "Wakey wakey hands off your snakey!"

OOOJERRY Out (Notice Ryan Seacrest reference)

Conditioning

Conditioning most of you know what this means.  Athletic training.  I am not looking forward to getting my rear back into shape.  Being a runner, I should be running consistently.  Ignoring this, I have a lot of catching up to do.  I need to get back in form for track and more specifically sprints.  It is a godsend that I live in Southern California.  It is always somewhat warm year round.  Last Thursday at the coast it reached 90°.

On a tangent, I am rocking out at one in the morning listening to Basshunter's newest release "LOL".  It is pretty good.  The guy is a complete and utter nerd.  One of his songs is about sitting in Ventrilo and playing Dota.  Another is about a remote access admin whose name is Anna.  He sings about Anna kicking and banning people so hard.  I get a good belly laugh when I hear this song playing.  When I first heard Basshunter was in June when he released LOL and it was something that was between PWND members...And someone screwed up and it got out to my track team...Then for the Senior Sendoff assembly Vi sitter här i venten och spelar was playing.  Which is the song about Ventrilo and Dota.  I was cracking up because me, Duckey, and Vudoo actually knew the meaning of this song while everyone else is like this is cool music.  Anyways, they joined the darkside of gaming!

Back to conditioning.  I have been playing baseball since June and haven't been on a run since July.  I don't really have the endurance to run a 400m in a minute.  If I am lucky when I start running I'll  be at about 64-66 seconds for the 400m.  And be able to reproduce these results with only short rest intervals.  My goal is the common motto, "Bigger, faster, stronger."  That motto encompasses the goal of a true athlete.  To become bigger as in muscle mass, faster is pretty obvious, and stronger to push your self to your limits.

w00t!

My iPod (as some of you guys have seen in the forums) is getting replaced by American Express!  They have a year of American Express warranty after the end of a manufacturer's warranty.  So it falls within the three years because I bought the extended warranty and they are gonna give me between $215-320 for my old crappy iPod.  So when I get that I'm getting one of those new 80gb classics!  w00t!

Crysis:Pre-Release Demo

The question everyone in the gaming community has been pondering, "Is Crysis™ worth it?"  The gaming community finally received access to the pre-release demo on October 26th.  The day of its release, I downloaded it.  I sat there in anticipation to see if the game would be up to par with my expectations.  1.77GB later I was running the .exe and installing the Crysis™ Single Player Demo.
I opened it up.  The interface began to look as if it came out of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell™.  I spent a couple of minutes browsing through the controls and through system settings.  I tried to run the game on medium with my specifications (see bottom of document), but I was getting a good amount of hardware lag so I turned it down to low.  Even with running Crysis™ at low the game was breathtaking.
In the opening scene I was surprised by the detail with the engines of the plane producing the various colors of the spectrum being spewed from the exhaust.  You then very quickly learn why Crysis™ was rated Mature by ESRB®.  You are a part of a tactical unit in a mission to find missing civilians.
You and your unit jump out of the back of the plane and begin a freefall descent towards the island.  Then, your parachute does not open correctly and you are plunging at terminal velocity into the Pacific Ocean.  Thankfully your high-tech nano suit saves you from your death.  You are separated from your unit and you must find your way to their location.  You land on the beach and you must covertly neutralize three North Korean soldiers to reach your destination.   This is where Crysis’™ unique Adapt to Survive gameplay and the CryENGINE2™ come into play.  You can add a silencer and tactical sight to your weaponry to quickly dispatch of your targets, but if you miss they can fire back toward you.  If you are hiding in the trees and they shoot a tree, the tree can be split and will begin to fall removing any possible cover.
As you learn how to play the game as a covert unit, you learn how to use many of the features of your “nano suit”.  Your suit has the ability to give you super-strength, super-speed, invisibility, increased armor strength, and the ability to change gun attachments and options on the run.  Another way how to increase your ability to be a stealth force is your binoculars.  Yes, you think that the only useful thing on your binoculars is to scout enemy positions-think again.  Not only can you scout enemy positions, your suit’s GPS keeps a track at all times where that enemy is located.
Driving is something you do not often see in new-age FPS games.  But in Crysis™ you can use driving to your advantage.  You can pick off a gunner out of a jeep, get in the jeep and take off and drive while providing yourself with cover fire from the turret located on top of the jeep.  As you the game continues you receive access to weapons such as a North Korean tank making yourself an indestructible fortress.
An amazing feature that I have never seen in any game to this date is Crysis’™ grenade tracking system.  If you or your enemy throws a grenade towards you, your suit picks up the approximate location of the grenade in a distance of meters.  A neat effect with Crysis™ is that if a grenade blows up in front of your character mud and dirt “fly” onto your screen and eventually begins to fade away, thus simulating the effect of a real wartime situation.
Crysis™ in my opinion is definitely worth a shot of downloading it.  Some may fight that the game is too graphics intensive for your computer so it is always best to try the demo before you go out and buy the game.  With the pre-release demo only being one level it was amazing.  It left me wanting more.  I am drooling over this game being released even though my specifications are not that great.    This is something that should be on any hardcore gamers’ wish list.
Crysis™ is one of those games where the pros outweigh the cons.  The CryENGINE2™ is what feeds the monster of Crysis™ and leaves us wanting more.  The only downsides to Crysis™ are that it is a system hog and is graphics intensive.  You have to have a computer built within the past two or three years to really experience Crysis™.  You also have to have at least a “middle-of-the-road” graphics card.  I thought that my graphics card was pretty good to run FPS, MMORPGs, and other games, but Crysis’™ graphics are on another level.  They require you to have a good machine.

School

School is a whole new beast this year.  You would think what your teachers, peers, and principal saying that sophomore year is easier than freshman year is full of it.  I expected more work but not this much.  I have not even logged on to play CS:S, or any other video game of any kind since Saturday.  I normally do quite well with time management, but it is starting to get to me.  I thought I was on a good pace to finish my unit work for AP European History...Well, I need to rethink about my time management even more!  This is my little rant in-between writing theses for AP Euro...Then I have to go and do Precalculus Honors :(...I probably won't get on until this weekend.  HOpe to see you there!

It's That Time of Year

I am deciding whether or not to go to homecoming...How nerdy is that.  This blog is overdue....about a week or two's worth overdue....Don't hurt me Weaver I swear I'll make you profiles.

While I am talking about profiles....I am now officially part of the SpawnPoint.com team.  I am now part of the staff.  It feels good.  I now have to get a picture of myself and write up a biography about what I am like.  I will eventually be seated somewhere in the 'About Us' section on the bottom of the page.  I should just say I am dedicated to SpawnPoint and computer and console games.  Well, actually I am somewhat dedicated to school.

Sports....I tried out for baseball again.  I think once again it is political nonsense.  I caught for six innings and had no passballs.  I lines out to the right fielder and legged out a single in the hole.  Eh, things like this aggravate me at times.  Even my friend.  He did a decent job batting but struck out all six of the six possible batters and he didn't make it.  I guess I'll be playing club baseball and running in school track.
USC vs. Stanford.  Any real USC fan knew Booty sucks in the first place.  He had four of it is the quarterback's fault interceptions to Stanford.  USC is now ranked 10th in the AP Poll.  I think they are going to rock Oregon's and Cal's socks...Well at least give them a run for their money.  What also baffles me is how UCLA lost to Notre Dame.  Notre Dame was 0-5 going into the game and then they dominate UCLA.  I guess Appalachian State can beat UCLA then...

Pallbearer

I just received word that I am going to be a pallbearer at my great-grandfather's funeral on Tuesday.  As some of you that I have talked to know what happened early Wednesday morning.  I am just so out of it right now I can't even really get anything done.

School...Is cool not!

English II Accelerated is weird.  My track coach is also my English teacher.  He tends to pick on me just because he knows me better than the majority of his students.  We are reading All Quiet On The Western Front it is a pretty easy read and I am about a third of the way through the book and it has been pretty good.

Math is seriously one of the most boring things there is....at my level.  All we have been doing is simple math stuff, but we have to analyze random stuff on what makes a formula such as the quadratic formula work.  Honors Precalculus has pretty much been a general waste of time.

Tennis is interesting....I am the most athletic but not the most talented....I'll just stop talking about that.

AP European History is a great class.  I am pulling a mid-range B right now.  I need to learn how to memorize stuff a little better.  I got a B+ on a test of memorizing countries, capitals, rivers, mountain ranges, and bodies of water around Europe (spelling counted too.  I spel lik firefigter).

Chemistry is another boring class for me.  Up to this point in the year I know everything.  Most of this stuff so far is just like review of measuring and doing math.  Like my homework for Chemistry tonight was to read chapter two in my textbook and it was a review of what we already knew and what we learned in class.

Spanish II is interesting.  I speak pretty fluent Spanish because I am half Mexican and I am getting a solid B in that class, but I got a fifteen out of thirty on my quiz...So, I am going to go in at one of my breaks and see what I did wrong...I am pretty sure she forgot to multiply the fifteen by two to get the thirty that I am ninety-nine percent sure I earned.

School and Food

MMMMM....Pepper jack cheese!  I am gnawing on a block of that good stuff right now.

Today was my second day of Sophomore year in high school.  I go to ANHS (we are the school of south Orange County that is famous nationally for freak dancing....).  Most of my teachers are cool except my Honors Precalculus teacher.  He expects us to teach ourselves a good portion of the lesson for math.  Anyways my track coach is my English II Accelerated teacher.  He played a joke on me both today and yesterday...Now I have to get back at him.  My AP European History teacher is amazing at what he does.  It makes me happy that I took that class.  My Chemistry teacher is the head of the cheer drill stuff at my school.  My Spanish II teacher is also a little off-center with the way she does things...But this should be a year with a lot of fun!

1:21AM

It is 1:21AM PST.  I couldn't get to sleep so why not post a blog.  I am currently listening to Velvet Revolver's new album Libertad.  In their new album I have fallen in love with these songs:Let It Roll, American Man,Mary Mary, Just Sixteen, and Gravedancer.  I expected a lot more out of this album.  The press said that this was gonna be an album just as revolutionary as Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon.    From what I read In a Rolling Stone (the magazine) article was that songs were added and removed because of Scott Weiland's brothers death.  This second album is a lot different from their more Guns N Roses influenced Contraband.  Libertad has more music that you would be accustomed to hearing in Stone Temple Pilots.

I caught an aimbotter about half an hour ago on the 108.4 Assault server.  I think I may start playing more on the 174.5 server.  *Prays that ping will be good*  Too many people know my strategies on that server.   And it would be nice to take a break from admining so I can just kick back and play instead of change your name watch your language kind of stuff.

I would like to give a special thanks to [PHXX] Starlog for making punishments for people who buy an AWP on AWP restricted servers through console.  I tried it on the 198 server when nobody was there and it worked like a charm.

I am currently writing an essay for AP European History.  It is bugging the hell outta me.  One of my best friends is taking the class too and we are shooting e-mails back and forth with new ideas for our thesis and what in the world we should write about.

To continue on schooling...I am entering my Sophmore year in high school.  I am taking Honors Precalculus, English 2 Accelerated, Chemistry Accelerated(wanted to take AP Chemistry but I thought that would take too much work and effort even though I am great with Chem), AP European History, Spanish 2, and Tennis(lol I am learning how to play Tennis).

On a lighter note...I am officially the designated driver for Sunday.  My mom's side of the family is protesting their union picnic because they pay about sixty dollars a month in union dues and they want free beer for the amount of money they have to give to the union each and every month.  So my parents will be getting obliterated in Santa Ana and me and rubber kniving skillz will be swimming at my great aunts house along with my cousins and so on.

Well anyways this was all that was on my mind....1:36AM PST

Back

I got back from Hawaii on Monday.  It was pretty cool.  Took a seven day cruise from Honolulu to Kauai then to Hilo, Kona, Maui and back to Honolulu.  Hurricane Flossie had provided some turbulent seas to deal with.  On the deck of the ships the winds for three days varied in speeds between 60 and 90 mph.  Even with the hurricane there was only one day where it was not sunny.  That was on Hilo.  I've been to all the ports that the ship had stopped at before.  I didn't even care for Hilo in the first place because it is a heavy industrial center.  After I got off the boat I had about 12 hours to burn so I went on a drive to North Shore went to the Dole Plantation and the checked out Pearl Harbor.  I then after that spent about half an hour at Waikik.  Then I went back to Honolulu to catch the red-eye flight from Honolulu to San Fran.  I had a half-hour layover in San Fran before coming back to Orange County California.  While I was in Kauai I spent a little bit of time looking for [KI]Duckey as we are both real-life friends.  I have some spectacular pictures that I may start posting in latter blogs.

Heres a story that happened to me on Tuesday.

So yesterday my mom was shopping and took my dad's keys to the truck and didn't give them back.  So this morning when we were going to go to a surgery center for my dad to have a quick procedure we couldn't find the keys.  We then used a plastic emergency key to drive the car that was created by AAA by the way.  Everything goes good and then we come home eat lunch and go to Rite Aid and go to my brothers middle school and everything is fine.  We finish registering my brother for 7th grade and then my dad opens the car door andthe alarm starts going off and won't stop. I tried starting the car and putting it into drive and it wouldn't work because of some security mechanism and the horn was blaring for ten minutes.  And everyone thought we were stealing a car! XD  Then our neighbors were there took me and my brother home and then my dad was waiting for a tow truck cause of the security, but all it needed was to unlock the door with the key.  Even though it was unlocked.  The whole dang thing happened cause we didn't have the actual keys to the car!  Stupid key fobs with Alarm buttons...

Eh..Extended Introduction

For those who don't know me I am OOOJERRY. I currently help spawnpoint.com build and create gaming profiles for games such as Glest 2 for an example.  I am a newby to making these gaming profiles, but I am working on them a little more everyday.  I tend to frequent almost every spawnpoint.com server that is available to me. I am an administrator on the 69.90.108.4:27015 Vancouver Assault Server. I have been playing Counterstrike in general for about a year now. I began playing 1.6 a little over a year ago and took almost a six month hiatus from gaming to focus more on schoolwork. I then got a video card and this new video card allowed me to run Steam's Source Engine. At first I thought CSS was a little cartoony for me, but I have became used to it. I was introduced to spawnpoint.com by a personal friend and I have been fragging it up ever since. I also play a lot of BF2 PM me if you want to game it up a little bit...Toodles for now
